With spring fast approaching it's time to take a look at your special friend ( your motorcycle). It has been sitting there all winter covered up in its nice warm blanket just waiting for old man winter to take off.
If you pay to store your ride at a reputable bike shop they likely take care of getting your bike ready for your first ride of the year, like checking fluid levels, changing the oil and filter, inspecting the braking systems, the cooling system if it has one, shocks, air filters, signals and fuel tank, and the most important your tires and possibly a light tune up if needed.
If you store yours at home because you don't do separation well LOL, you will need to do all of the above as well, if some of this is beyond your skill set or comfort level be sure to get it to the bike doctor and he will fix you up . If you like to do it yourself more power to you as there is a sense of pride there for yourself knowing your ride intimately LOL.
All joking aside it is very important to ensure your bike is up to the challenge of riding here there and everywhere and that it gets you to and from with no issues. And last but not least and to some like myself the most important part cleaning your bike she should looks as good if not better than she runs, so it will be alot of elbow grease some light cursing a bit of aches and pains to get her looking beautiful . Everyone looks at your ride even those who would never even consider riding as they even see them as a thing of beauty as we do, so rub rub rub polish polish polish LOL.
With the new season coming this too is also a good time to think of your safety while riding out there in a world that rarely seems to acknowledge our presence sharing the road with them. Never take for granted that you are seen or heard so giving yourself more time to signal and make turns, slowing down or speeding up will help avoid a incident that could cost you injury or damaging your ride. A perfect rider is not made but a rider can develop a good sense of what's ahead and better see that car or truck that is not aware of your presence over time with miles in the seat. There is also some very good videos out there to watch to sharpen your skills on the road and in traffic I do recommend viewing some of them everything helps in the regards to our safety.
Enjoying the open road on a beautiful sunny day with great friends is living life to the fullest for us "Motorcyle Riders" so get to it see you rolling on down the highway.
